Payne, Britt
Science Teacher
FBRA Girls

After a whirlwind adventure navigating the wild rivers of South America, Britt is back with fresh stories, a renewed sense of wonder, and an even greater passion for science. With a background in blending hands-on science education with outdoor exploration, she is ready to dive back into teaching with her signature sense of adventure and flair for the extraordinaire.

Britt’s journey began with a deep dive into hydrogeology during her college studies, where she developed a keen understanding of water systems that would later inform her dynamic teaching approach. This foundation in hydrogeology complements her background, which includes teaching at Southwestern Community College and French Broad River Academy. Add to that a wealth of outdoor adventure expertise as a whitewater kayak instructor and international river guide, and Britt brings a unique blend of academic rigor and hands-on excitement to the classroom.

When not navigating rapids or crafting engaging science lessons, Britt can be found slacklining in the park, climbing some rocks or dancing with her friends. She is thrilled to be back at FBRA, ready to inspire curiosity and adventure in every student.
