The BEST First Week of School Ever
Our school year began last week with Induction Week, a five-day overnight experience based out of Camp Mondamin for Boys and Camp Green Cove for Girls. New students may have arrived on Monday morning with a bit of trepidation and uncertainty, but they departed on Friday with a whole new crew of friends, some new outdoor skills, and tons of fun memories.
Induction Agenda
Sixth-graders got an introduction to canoeing and learned some basics, while returning 7th- and 8th-graders brushed up on their paddling skills, setting a strong foundation for this year’s outdoor program. There was lots of swimming and water play, hiking and river stomping, campfires and singing, learning about school culture and habits, and time for reflection and plenty of fun.
Induction Week exemplifies the FBRA philosophy that work, play, learning, and shared adventure are the firm foundation for the best middle school education. No doubt, all FBRA students were ready to appear for the first day of academic classes this week with a spring in their step and the knowledge that they are already a member of a strong community.
